Optimization of the Use of Confectionery Raw Materials by Means of Linear Programming Methods — Przegląd piekarski i cukierniczy 2021-9

The article addresses the problem of optimizing the use of confectionery raw materials in order to maximize profit while considering limited resources. The author shows that this issue belongs to the field of operations research, specifically linear programming, used to determine the best allocation of resources.

In the technical part, a mathematical model is presented with decision variables representing quantities of different products, a profit-maximizing objective function, and linear constraints related to the availability of raw materials (e.g. gelatin and additives). The model is based on systems of linear inequalities and equations and can be solved using optimization algorithms such as the simplex method .

As a result, the optimal production plan was determined, indicating which products should be produced and in what quantities to achieve the maximum profit. The article demonstrates that linear programming as a method of operations research enables effective resource management and supports rational decision-making in production.
